He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert P. McVea Sr. and Vera S. McVea; and his son David Lawrence McVea. He is survived by: his wife Linda McVea; his daughter Christy McVea (Don) of Denham Springs, LA; his siblings, Barbara McVea Foote (Parrish) of Baker and Robert P. McVea Jr.; his wife Judy of Baton Rouge; and also, James Y. McVea (Sherry) of Cummings, GA and Benjamin S. McVea (Martha) of Zachary. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center or Young Family Cemetery.
