He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Tate and Rubye Tate; his sister Katherine LaVee Ott; and his son Roy Darrell Tate. He is survived by: his wife Jeannine Hinton Tate; his sons, Kim Tate (Helene), Mark Tate (Jennifer) and Ralph Tate (Cheryl); and his sister Carol Jean Tate Horsley (James). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.
In lieu, of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital may be made.
