She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucy O'Bryan Pierce and Oliver Pierce; her husband Charles Louie Abels; her son Mark Abels; her grandson Justin Smith; and her siblings, J. C. and Ray Pierce.
She is survived by: her children, Betty Anderson (Jerry), Cathy Howell (Mike), Teresa Abels and Marty Abels (Carmen). She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren; and a numerous number of nieces and nephews.
