He was predeceased by: his wife Berdina Nix (McNeely); his parents, J. W. Nix Sr. and Lillie Mae Nix (Parker); his son Robert Wade "Buddy" Nix; and his great grandchild Tristan Wade Allen.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Kendrick (Charles) of Lafayette Louisiana and Debby Gregory (Terry) of Jena, Louisiana; his daughter-in-law Sarah Nix; and his grandchildren, John Lee, Dena Lowe, Christie Thomas, Melissa Wold, DeeDee Head (Nix) and Robin Perrin. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
