James Holbrook Obituary

We bid farewell to James Holbrook of Winnfield, Louisiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 25, 2024 at the age of 90. James touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Lawrence Holbrook and Mettie Lucille Steven Holbrook; and his wife Melbalene Lawson Holbrook. He is survived by: his children, Jenny Kaye Hodge (John), Rebecca Folden, Trena Short (Ernie) and Clarence Holbrook (Beth); his siblings, Alice Pender (Frank), Miriam Christian, Ruth Wright, Joy Sullenger, Mettie "Fawnie" Merryman (Larry), Kathy Griesbrecht and Chuck Holbrook (Lori); and his pet Elvis "Buddy". He is also survived by eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, September 30th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Family Church (1806 Maple St, Winnfield, LA 71483). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 30th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
