She was predeceased by: her parents, Lillie Ioala Mathews Smith and John Luther Smith; her grandparents, Robert E. Lee and Frances Ophilia Mathews; her siblings, James Lee Smith and Gloria Inez Smith; and her son Darryl Taylor.
She is survived by: her children, Mike Taylor, Patricia Ferrier (Clinton) and Melody Bartley (Gary); and her close friend Donna Bland. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
