He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira R. Hawes and Alice C. Hawes; and his sister Terry Wright (Linda Hawes). He is survived by: his close friend Anne McLean; his children, Sonja Diaz (Mervin) and Keith Hawes (Nicole); his grandchildren, Ryan Diaz, Shane Hawes (Tiffany), Hunter Hawes (Breanne) and Chelse Hawes (Dalton); his great grandchildren, Jesse Hawes, Waylon Guileyardo and Rowan Hawes; and his close friend Alvin Fort.
Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the War Veterans Home or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
