He was predeceased by: his wife Bernice Gros; and his parents, Samson Charles Gros, Sr. and Aline Tassin Gros. He is survived by: his children, Sammy Gros (Mona), Kathy Savoie (Basil) and Robert Gros (Denise); his grandchildren, Brandi Rigaud (Steve), Collin Gros (Lindsey) and Lindsey Brooks (Dan); and his brother Ray Gros. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
