He is survived by: his wife Glenda Simmons; his son Pernell Simmons, Jr. (Andrea); his siblings, Velma Lee Whittington (Walter), Isabella Jones (Herbert), Ordelia Thomas (Robert) and Hilda Mae Simmons-Jones (Darnel); his brother-in-law Edward Harris; his goddaughters, Norma Jean Simmons and Valerie Birden; his friends, Ananias Birden and Shirley Lewis; and his aunt Patricia Brook. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
