It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nita Gallender Jenkins of Westwego, Louisiana, born in Tickfaw, Louisiana, who passed away on August 14, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Aurles "Realis" Gallender and Angelina Baham Gallender; her children, Leslie Jenkins and Beverly Sue Jenkins; her sister Ruby Johnson (Billy); her nephews, George Mulkey, Jr., Randy Gallender and Billy Mulkey; and her siblings-in-law, George Mulkey and Carolyn Gallender.

She is survived by: her daughter Nancy Jenkins Drummond (Todd); her grandchildren, Nickolas Jenkins, Andrew Jenkins (Amber), Jared Jenkins, Donald James Drummond (Rica), Robert Charles "Reece" Drummond, Chelsea Dillon and Kirstie Dillon; her great grandchildren, Claire, Oliver, Olivia Jenkins and Donovan Drummond; her siblings, Betty Mulkey and Demos Gallender; her nephew Larry Brenner (Sybil); her niece Janie Sharman (Raj); her children-in-law, John Dillon and Ann Jenkins; and her husband James Robert "Bob" Jenkins. She is also survived by five godchildren.
