He was predeceased by: his child Janiece Harvey; his parents, Claudel "Geechie" Lumar, Sr. and Helen Bradford Lumar; his grandparents, Otis Lumar, Sr. and Sylvinia Gordan Lumar; his parent-in-law Willie Mae Smith; his grandparents-in-law, Joe and Alice Smith; and his brother-in-law Joseph Jackson.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Smith Lumar; his children, Sykema Lumar, Dawane Barabino and Marcus Lumar, Sr.; his stepparent Augustine Lumar; his siblings, Sylvia Lumar Frank, Kim Lumar Smith, Angela Lumar Heard (Jeffrey) and Contance Lumar Varmall (Keith); his stepsiblings, Phyllis, Wayne, Lori and Ronald Matthews; his siblings-in-law, Jackie Jackson, Michael Jackson and Larry Smith (Valerie); and his nieces and nephews, Calvin Populis, Jr., Christopher Burns, Jr. and Claudel. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Grace and Glory Family Worship Church (802 Third St, New Orleans, LA 70130). A celebration of life was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
