He was predeceased by: his parents, Elba Lantia and Isabell Lantia; and his sister Rita Higginbotham. He is survived by: his wife Acoral Lee Bass Lantia; his children, Brandy Ann Lantia and Joseph Vernon Lantia, Jr. (Lisa); his grandchildren, Devin Osbourn (Catherine), Amber Shearer (Samuel), Nick Osbourn and Noah Lantia; his brother Johnny Higginbothom (Sandra); and his aunt Velma Peroni.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Lakeside Funeral Home (340 E Prien Lake Rd, Lake Charles, LA 70601). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location.
