He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Halley Whitmire; his daughters, Cynthia "Cyndi" Whitmire LeJeune (Mark) and Anita "Jodi" Whitmire; his grandchildren, John Michael Powers (Tram Ta), Mandy Hayzlett (Trevor), Emily Rose Degeyter (Cody) and Marley Elizabeth McBride (Jordan); and his great grandchildren, Todd Powers, Claire Powers, Denae, Lexi, Morgan Hayzlett, Makenzie, Kayden and Payton Degeyter.
