He was predeceased by : his parents, Lee Ackleson and Jennie Ackleson; his sons, Thomas Ackleson and Michael Ackleson; his brother Ed Ackleson; his granddaughter Jessica Mills; and his great grandchild Chance.

He is survived by : his wife Thelma Craig Ackleson of Westlake; his daughter Judy Vander Luit (Martin) of Bowmanville; his daughter-in-law Diane Ackleson of Lake Charles; and his sister Nancy Mason of Ridley Park.
