He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Lannis Hatten and Mary Avis Shell Hatten; his sister Eloise Hatten Wade; his granddaughter Misty Michelle Hatten; and his nephew Larry Wade.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Dale" Hatten; his children, W. C. "Dub" Hatten, Jr. (Susie), Cheryl Hatten Lee (Clarence), Sam Hatten (Rene), Mike Hatten (Suzanne), Steve Hatten (Cindy), Jimbo Hatten (Jayelyn) and Amy Hatten Miller (Bubba); and his nieces, Marilyn Day, Susan Smith and Lois North. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.
