He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas A. Sanders, Sr. and Medorah Head Sanders; and his brothers, Jerry "Jeep" Sanders and William Ray Sanders. He is survived by: his wife Mary Powell Sanders; his children, Thomas "Al" Sanders, III (Marilyn Allen), Mark B. Sanders (Leslie) and Jeri Beth Sanders Watson (Kevin); and his grandchildren, Dana Sanders Roberts, Macy Sanders Wilhite (Brad), Kelly Sanders Wright (Brett), Layton Sanders and Thomas Cole Watson. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes the memorials to be made to First United Methodist Church of West Monroe Building Fund.
