He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert H Riels, Sr. and Doris Cox Riels; his brother-in-law Gary Welch; and his nephew Shane Welch. He is survived by: his daughters, Melissa Riels and Jana Trichel; his wife Sandra Hammett Riels; his grandchildren, Sydney Donald, Neely Donald and Tyler Trichel; and his siblings, Gail Welch, Melba Petty (Clifford Petty) and Mike Riels (Elsie Riels).
