He was predeceased by: his wife Marinell Swan; his sons, Ricky Swan and Phillip Swan; and his brother Robert "Bob" Swan. He is survived by: his children, Tommy Swan (Debbie), Steve Bryant (Marilyn) and Glen Bryant (Judy); his daughter-in-law Arlene Swan; his brother Thomas Glen Childers; and his close friend Joy Defee. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
