He was predeceased by: his son Ronald Dale Hopkins; his sister Geraldine Milby; and his siblings-in-law, J. L. Milby and G. V. Hopkins. He is survived by: his wife Vivian Ruth Hopkins; his children, A. W. Hopkins (Karen), Susan Humphries (Bryce) and Jesse Owens (Margaret); and his brother W. L. Hopkins. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
