She was predeceased by: her parents, L. C. Joiner and Molly Joiner; her husband Marshall R. Johnston, Jr.; and her daughter Sandra "Sandy" Kaye Johnston. She is survived by: her daughter Nancy Bradstock (Thom); her granddaughters, Jessica Feinstein (Adam) and Amanda Bradstock-Waitz (Brendan); and her sister Creacy Joiner. She is also survived by her friends and family.

Memorials may be made in Molly's name to the American Cancer Society.
