He was predeceased by: his parents, Gaston E. "Shorty" Rutledge and Juanita Joy Peacock Rutledge; and his brother Wayne Hardwick. He is survived by: his wife Janet Dale McKaskle Rutledge; his sons, Gabriel B. Rutledge and Zachary Rutledge (Jessica); his grandsons, Porter Rutledge and Jesse Rutledge; and his brother Steve Rutledge (Dianne).
