He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Whitaker and Helen; his sister Mary; his daughter Terrie Debnam; and his brother Ovis Staggs, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Danny Whitaker, Julie Mulhearn (Jack), Jessica Nazario (Daniele Sr.) and Justin Whitaker (Katie); and his sister Dee A. Staggs. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
