He is survived by: his wife Syble Melton; his child James Melton, Jr.; his wife Christie; his grandchildren, Jamie Underwood (Justin), Alaina Little, Jacob Little, Michael Favinger, Sam Whitaker II, Ginger Roberts and Chyenne Brown; his great grandchildren, Madison Underwood, Ashlyn Underwood and Aria Fletcher; his siblings, Pete Melton, Janice Melton, Anna Martin, Brenda Russell, John Russell, Eddie Barnett, James Barnett and Bubba Barnett; and also, Michelle Favinger, Judy Little (Mark), Sam Whittaker (Elizabeth) and Tammy Roberts. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
