He is survived by: his wife Joyce Duke Broom; his children, Jeff Broom (Mickey), Jen Barnes (Ken), Jared Broom (Courtney), Angel Souza (Jeff), Emmy Lopaz (Luis), Robyn Rabb (Billy Carbone, Jr.), Crystal Wade (Jake) and Margaret Kinnaird (Jeremy); and his siblings, Judy Gates (Jarrel), Wanda Philips (Kernel Lee Hobgood) and Jerry Broom (Elaine). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
