He was predeceased by: his wife Beatrice Dean; his son Terrance Dean; his parents, J. D. Dean and Gladys Dean; and his siblings, Joyce Dean, Sadie Dean, Verline Burns, Dorothy Dean, J. D. Dean Jr. and Emmanuel "Bo" Dean.
He is survived by: his children, Eric Dean, Stephen Dean, Jaden Dean, Tiffany Dean and Monica Dean; and his siblings, Wordell Dean and Pamela Freeman. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews.
