He was predeceased by: his wife Ursula Bindewald Schaff; his sons, Ferdinand (Kim) and Gerard Schaff; his granddaughter Victoria Schaff; his parents, Ferdinand J. Schaff, Sr. and Sarah Lory Schaff; and his brother-in-law David Bindewald (Letty).
He is survived by: his children, Janet Travis (Larry), Karl (Kathy) and Warren (Sandra); his grandchildren, Sarah, Hilary (Mitch), Jacob, Cody (Shelby), Hayley, Michael (Abi), Olivia, Evan and Reid; his great grandchildren, Leo, Henry, Emilia and George; and his siblings-in-law, June Ramoneda (late John), Andrée M. Bindewald, O. Carm, Beth Bindewald, Joyce Cambias (Jerry), Beryl Theriot (Bill), Joseph Bindewald (Kathy) and Michael Bindewald.
