He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Ammon and May Ola Salter. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Fortenberry Salter; his children, Derek Salter (Madeline), Patrick Salter (Jami), Mackenzie Grassi (Jamie) and Sydney Gresham (Kyle); his grandchildren, Kaylee Grassi, Emmy Yates, Zepplin Salter, Emily Salter, Maggie Salter, Daniel Salter, Corbin Salter, Benjamin Salter, Hazel Salter, Sue Salter, Nova Grassi and Luna Grassi; and his siblings, Lloyd Ammon Salter (Linda) and Brenda Salter White (Harold Ray).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fair Park Baptist Church Building Fund.
