It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Melbaline Sills of West Monroe, Louisiana, who passed away on December 28, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Mattie Lou Hagood Sanderson and Henry Shirley Sanderson; her siblings, James Sanderson and Shirley Sanderson Edwards; and her siblings-in-law, Mary Ellen Sanderson, Geraldine Sanderson, Patricia McGee Sills (Pat) and Sam Nolan.

She is survived by: her children, Mike Sills (Sheerah) of West Monroe, Jeff Sills (Linda) of Monroe and Susan Thigpen (James) of Calhoun; her grandson Aaron Sills of West Monroe; her brother Malcolm Sanderson of Colorado; her siblings-in-law, Irving Sills of West Monroe and Clara Nolan of West Monroe; and her husband Robert. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Mulhearn Funeral Home - West Monroe (300 McMillan Rd, West Monroe, LA 71291). A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Kilpatricks Serenity Gardens Cemetery (8729 Cypress St, West Monroe, LA 71291).
