He was predeceased by: his parents, Celia Simpson Dodd and Ethram Dodd; his brother Norman E. Dodd; his niece Kathy Parks; his brother-in-law Wendell Parks; his nephew Eric Dodd; and his parents-in-law, B. J. Green and Sarah Gulley Green.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara G. Dodd; his children, Patti Hearn (Richy) and James Kevin Dodd; his sister Ruth Parks-Breedlove; his grandchildren, Lauren Hearn Ratcliff (Wes), Eliana Swaim and Ryan Hearn; his great grandchild Ryker Ratcliff; his sister-in-law Sandy McKissick; his brother James Green (Anne); his sister-in-law Sue Dodd; his adoptive son Todd Harper; and also, Harold and Christine McGrew. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
