He was predeceased by: his parents, Inez and Archie Gilliland, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Alice Gilliland; his children, Doug Gilliland, Breanna of West Monroe and Sandy (Stan); his grandchildren, Corinne and Landon of Gluckstadt, Mississippi.; his sister Barbara; his brother Dan (Anna Margaret); his nieces and nephews, Leigh Anna, Dee Anne and Jo Ellen; and also Lark.

Memorials may be made to the New Chapel Hill Cemetery Fund.
