It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joy Anne Montero Acosta (Watson, Louisiana), born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who passed away on January 13, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husbands, L. J. "Sonny" Acosta Jr. and Leo Scallan; her daughter Georgia Lee Acosta; her stepmother Freida "Mumsie" Montero; her brothers, Marvin and Coleman "Duggy" Montero; and her granddaughter Margeaux Gardner.
She is survived by: her children, Lawren Graham (Donald), Kevin Acosta (Donna), Brenda Royer and Wendell Acosta (Marguerite); her brother Jimmy Montero (Carol); and her grandchildren, Buddy, Earl, Trent, Aleisha, Casey, Caitlyn, Sydney, Amanda, Trampis, Trevor, Brian, Scott and Jason. She is also survived by 33 great grandchildren and 12 great greatgrandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.
