With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Eugene Ray Engels of Watson, Louisiana, born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 26, 2024 at the age of 59. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Eugene Ray departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Eugene Ray may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Eugene Ray leaves behind.

He was predeceased by: his father James Henry Engels Sr.; and his brother Gary Engels. He is survived by: his mother Beverly Boudreaux Engels; his children, Peyton Engels (Heather) of Central and Taylor Sweezy (Nick) of Central; his grandchildren, Rustin, Ryker Sweezy, Emma and Eli Engels; and his siblings, James Henry Engels Jr. "Butch" (Sheri) of Baton Rouge, Cheryl Rioux (Paul) of Watson, Keith Engels (Elizabeth) of St. Petersburg, FL and Micheal Engels (Jami) of Central. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Berean Ministries (508 N River Rd, Denham Springs, LA 70726).
