With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Annie Mae Garland Sturgis of Waterproof, Louisiana, born in Natchez, Mississippi, who passed away on November 13, 2021 at the age of 98. She was predeceased by: her parents, James A. Garland and Martha Edith Lineback Garland; her husband Homer J. Sturgis; her son Jamelle Sturgis; her grandson James Gayle Sturgis; and her siblings, Charles Edgar Orcutt, James Oscar Garland, Mazie Dunham Smith and Betty Jean Skaggs.

She is survived by: her children, Doris McDaniel of San Bernardino, CA, Ginger Dale Sturgis Bolyer of Ferriday, LA and David C. Ola of Waterproof, LA; and her grandchildren, Edward J. Bolyer, Jr. (Betty), Dorsan Bolyer Boyter (Charles), Sandra Sturgis Sprinkle (Travis), Veronica Sturgis Boren (Jim), James Scott McDaniel (Michelle), Antionette Ola White and Donna Marie Ola. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
