He was loved and cherished by many people including: his close friend Laverne Allen; his parents, Hazel Sorina and Joseph Stewart, II; his children, Joseph W. Stewart, Tiffany, Lemond and Demond Stewart; his stepchild Ta'Keisha Sylvester; and his siblings, Marion A. Stewart, Jacqueline Gordon, Elizabeth Thomas-Winston and Joyce Warren. He was also cherished by 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
