It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Sylvester of Washington, Louisiana, who passed away on August 1, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph "Jay" J. Sylvester; her son Nick Sylvester; her parents, Joseph Capello and Clodia Capello; and her siblings, Verlyn Leger, Dale Capello and Albert Capello.

She is survived by: her children, Ted Sylvester (Ann), Ronald Sylvester (Amanda), Richard Sylvester (Angie), Michael Sylvester (Stacey), Susan Christie (Sam Alleman), Sharon Misra (Abhay) and Beth Dyson (Harry); her siblings, Edmond Capello (Delores), Brenda Comeaux (Johnny), Dorothy Robert (Ronald), Diana Landry (Barry) and Betty Leblanc (Louis); her sisters-in-law, Catherine Capello and Donna Capello; her grandchildren, Amanda Sylvester, Jordan Sylvester, Megan Christie, Emily Christie, Elliott Christie, Jay Misra, Maya Misra, Blake Sylvester, Brett Sylvester, Seth Sylvester, Alyssa Sylvester, Hunter Ponville, Trent Ponville, Cole Sylvester, Sydney Dyson and Isabella Dyson; and her great grandchildren, Rylie Sylvester and Harley Sylvester.
