He was predeceased by: his mother Josephine Rakowski; his siblings, Alice Custer, Stanley Rakowski, Jim Ruttman and William Ruttman; his son Tommy Brown; his stepson James Padgett, III; his former wife Martha Walcoveick Ruttman; his granddaughter Cindy Brown; and his great grandchildren, Jasher Jones and Lauren Melchor.
He is survived by: his wife Sandi Poe Ruttman; his children, Cheryl Miller, Lorraine Harris (Ron) and Allen Brown; his stepdaughters, Lynette Wilks (Mark) and Darlene Carpenter; his siblings, Joe Rakowski (Karen), John Rakowski (Karen) and Sue Milke (Ray); his sister-in-law Rose Ruttman; and his grandchildren, Treynor McAdams (Melisa), Tracy Brown, Lynee McAdams, Elizabeth Miller, Joseph Miller (Kara), Nikki Brown, Daronda Johnson (Britt), Jolynn Reed (Scott), Lesa Cegielski (David), Jessica Staples (Jacob), Madelyn Wilks, Chase Carpenter, Brenan Padgett and Taylor Padgett. He is also survived by great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
