He was predeceased by: his parents, Sebie Davis and Mary Niehaus Davis; his former wife Katherine Landgraf Davis; his daughter Diane Simon; his granddaughters, Katie Arbour and Heather Strickland; and his siblings, Alvin Davis, Hollis Davis, Doris Price, Douglas Davis, Evelyn Mathes and Earl Davis.

He is survived by: his wife Gussie Davis; his children, Vicki Arbour, Shelley Bridges (Jim), Laurie Strickland, Fred Downing, Stephanie Davison (Andrew), Margaret Pfeil (Simon) and Mary Marcello (Matthew); his son-in-law Randall Simon; and his siblings-in-law, William Mathes and Wanda Davis. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

A rosary was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Denham Springs (865 Hatchell Ln, Denham Springs, LA 70726). Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
