It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of JoAnn Wascom of Walker, Louisiana, born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who passed away on February 3, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Jesse Wascom; her parents, Joseph B. Maggio, Sr. and Mary Bell Bujol Maggio; and her sister Mary Teresa Maggio Mitchell. She is survived by: her children, Michelle Wascom, O'Neal Wascom (Carrie) and James Wascom (Dannielle); her grandchildren, Faustin Wascom (Callie), Brady Wascom (Michelle) and Hayley Wascom; her great grandchildren, Savannah, Kamryn, Travis, Heidi, Manson and Rachel Wascom; her brother Joseph B. Maggio II (Amy); her wonderful sitter Becky Richardson; and her caregiver Lori Ann Wild.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (865 Hatchell Ln, Denham Springs, LA 70726). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
