He was predeceased by: his parents, D. J. Herrington and Lena Herrington; his brothers, David, Roy, Kenneth and Delma; and his brothers-in-law, Joe Summers and Buddy Dear.

He is survived by: his siblings, Inez Summers of Denham Springs, Katie Herrington of Walker, Lena Dear of Baskin, Daniel (Alice) of Livingston, Bobby Joe (Irene) of Arizona and Robert of Monroe; and his sisters-in-law, Joyce, Arlene and Linda. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Any monetary donations can be made to the Louisiana War Veteran Home in Monroe, where his brother Robert is a resident.
