He was predeceased by: his wife Ruby Lott Harrell; his parents, C. C. Harrell and Simmie Harrell; his siblings, G. A., Alcest, Dorris, Gilbert Harrell and Dorothy Zeigler; his grandchildren, Amy Harrell and Brandon Pirie; his great grandchildren, Tristen, Logan Harrell, Carter Watson, Joey, Noah, Joshua, Jacob, Nathan Harrell and Brandon Vail; and also Kemp Holden, Sr..
He is survived by: his children, Louis Harrell (Linda), Susan Watson (Roger), Chris Harrell, III, Joe Harrell (Susan) and Sheri Harrell. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren with one on the way, 5 great-great grandchildren.
