Nathaniel Coates Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nathaniel Coates (Wakefield, Louisiana), who passed away on March 1, 2024 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathaniel Coates Sr. and Rosa Mary Larvadain Coates; and his sisters, Carolyn Harris and Gwendolyn Johnson (Isaac). He is survived by: his wife Gloria Coates; his children, Eric Coates (Jeronica), Nathaniel Coates III, Derrick Coates (Trena), Jason Coates (Whitney), Lorenzo Coates (Kayla), Angela Coates, LaKanya Coates, Nadine Johnson (Lamar) and NaKeta Sterling; his grandchildren, Sarannah Washington and Jaze Coates; and his brothers, Donald Ray Coates (Carlotta), Calvin Carter, Walter Carter and Hosea Borskey (Jewel). He is also survived by 38 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
