She was predeceased by: her daughter Denise Lewis; her parents, Herbert Simmons and Ethel Simmons; and her sister Katherine Scott. She is survived by: her husband Walter Simmons; her children, Albert Lewis (Geraldine), Regina Lewis, Larocca Lewis, Calvin Lewis, Joses Arbuthnot (Carl) and Derrick Jones, Sr. (Terry); and her siblings, Emily Johnson, Elnora Birden, Joyce Martin of Hartford, CT, Charles Simmons, Edna Simmons, Lou Ethel Birden, Mary Cashmere, Gloria Jones, Ulysses Simmons, Lawrence Simmons, James Pearl "Man" Simmons and Clarence "Bob" Simmons. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 3 godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
