He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Player and Elaine Player; and his sister Letrice Player Morris. He is survived by: his daughter Sonya Gatchell (Bruce); his siblings, Lynda Player Davis and Buddy Player; and his brother-in-law Joe Morris. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home (705 S Spruce St, Vivian, LA 71082). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the Louisiana State Oil and Gas Museum, 200 S. Land Ave, Oil City, Louisiana 71061.
