He was predeceased by: his parents, William James McGuire and Allene Hargrove McGuire; his wife Susan Bounds McGuire; and his parents-in-law, Billy and Betty Bounds.

He is survived by: his children, Rachal McGuire Stevens (Chris) of Vivian, LA and William "Trey" McGuire, III (Tiffany) of Shreveport, LA; his grandchildren, Paige Sherman, Conly Stevens and Adley McGuire; his sister Ann Kennington of Hall Summit, LA; and his sisters-in-law, Terry Guy of Vivian, LA and Jerry Adcock (Arthur) of Atlanta, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the military support charity everywarrior.org.

“I remember many great times with our cousins when we would visit and play together at grandpa and grandma Hargrove’s home in Kelly. I also remember several visits we made to the Maguire home in Vivian. Jimmy was fun to be with him, full of life and energy. The simple joys of childhood fade away, and the adult world of complexities and challenges leads us all in different directions.
