It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gwendolyn Louise Shaffett Eiland (Vivian, Louisiana), who passed away on September 5, 2021, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Harnie Edward and Stevie Louise McDonnel Shaffett; her sisters, Bobbie Joyce Shaffett Rowe and Bette Nell Shaffett Byrd; and also Charles Edward Shaffett.

She is survived by: her husband Clarence H. Eiland; her daughters, Janice Robertson and Ann Barre; her grandchildren, Melinda Robertson Wittwer, Mark Eiland Robertson, Brandon Eiland Barre, Bradley Eiland Barre and Bret Eiland Barre; her great grandchildren, Erin Wittwer, Abbie Wittwer, Jack Wittwer, Cody Robertson, Nick Robertson, Kalyn Robertson, Jake Robertson, Morgan Barre Wilbanks, Chloe Barre, Michael Barre, Ashton Barre and Peyton Barre; and her great great grandchild Lucas Robertson.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Eiland asked that contributions be made to: Hands and Feet Ministry, First Baptist Church, Vivian, Louisiana Light House Ministries, Vivian, Louisiana, and Mission: Dignity|GuideStone, a Christian organization who assists older Baptist pastors and their wives in their retirement years.
