He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Merrill and Alice Ruth Jones Merrill; his brothers, Charles Windham, Jessie Jones, Arthur, Delvin and Rev. Joseph Merrill; and his nephews, Marcell, Arthur Charles, Michael and Joshua Merrill.
He is survived by: his sons, Benjamin C. Coleman of Chalmette, LA and Curtis Johnson (Matrell) of Atlanta, GA.; his grandchildren, Knowledge C. Johnson, Kaiqleyn Morgan, Ranekka and Naima Coleman; his siblings, Mary Merrill Wallace of Raceland, LA, Mildred Merrill, Chiquita M. Robertson of New Orleans, LA, Micheal, Gilroy and Jeffrey Merrill of Violet, LA.; and his siblings-in-law, Jesse Wallace of Raceland, LA and Crystal Merrill of Kenner, LA. He is also survived by nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
