She was predeceased by: her husband Chester Merrick; her parents, Elliot Williams and Nellie Williams; and her siblings, Elva Lewis, Annie Rose Williams, Era Alford, Gertrude Malvo, Leola Grogan and Robert E. Williams.

She is survived by: her son Raymond Anthony Merrick of Beaumont, Texas; and her grandchildren, Corey Merrick of Beaumont, Raymond A. Merrick, Jr. of Baytown Texas, Ebony Merrick of Houston, Phanic Merrick of Beaumont, Texas, Heather Merrick of Beaumont, Texas and Fourteen. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
