It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lloyd Benoit of Vinton, Louisiana, who passed away on January 18, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Emile Benoit and Electa Mott McClelland; his wife Bonnie Benoit; and his siblings, Cecil McClelland, Alberta LeDeoux, Louella Beaudeaux, Lillie Mae Trahan, Evelyn Chesson and Mildred Williams.

He is survived by: his children, Richard Benoit of Vinton, Donna Gragg (Dale) of Hemphill, Anthony Benoit of Houston and Joel Benoit (Shannon) of Conroe, Texas; and his siblings, Sylvester McClelland of Vinton, Drucilla Foreman of Carlyss, Joyce Abshire of Sulphur and Randall McClelland of Bridge City, Texas.. He is also survived by four grandchildren; six great grandchildren.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home (2577 N Wheeler St, Jasper, TX 75951).

“In loving memory of Lloyd Benoit, I met Lloyd about 1972 as he began his career as a draftsman., when I hired him at Gulf Chemical in Orange, Texas. Although he had limited experience in piping design, he was a quick learner and very intelligent. We became friends during the months we worked together, but I lost contact with him when my project was completed. Our paths crossed again years later and we re-connected several times thereafter. I regard Lloyd as a good friend. I will miss him”
