She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Fontenot and Erline Nichols; her stepfather C. C. Nichols; her brothers, Sammy Fontenot and Eloi C. Fontenot (Peco); and her grandmother C. Trahan.
She is survived by: her brothers, Thomas Nichols (Louise), Jerry Nichols (Belinda) and Wayne Nichols (Charlene); and her sister-in-law Sherry Fontenot (Gerry Fontenot). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
After a couple bouts of cancer, she became an avid supporter of the American Cancer Society and was active with "Relays for Life".
