He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Larouse Fontenot Sr. and Thelma Soileau Fontenot; his brothers, Leroy Larouse Fontenot Jr. and Cecil Fontenot; and his sister-in-law Beverly Fontenot.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ardoin Fontenot of Ville Platte; his children, Jason Paul Fontenot (Amy Leleux) of Ville Platte, Kristie Fontenot Perron (Robert Jude) of Ville Platte and Holly Fontenot Smith (Raymond Gerard) of Texas; his siblings, Charles Wayne Fontenot of Opelousas and Darlene Fontenot of Ville Platte; his sisters-in-law, Carol Fontenot of Denham Springs and Donna Fontenot of Lafayette; and his grandchildren, Tyler Jude Perron, Alexandra Lee Perron, Mary Elizabeth Perron, Lilly Claire Fontenot, Amelia Grace Fontenot, Juliet Rose Fontenot, Owen James Smith and Ann Katherine Smith.
As an active supporter and founding member of the Sacred Heart Foundation, his generosity and dedication left an indelible mark on the community he loved so dearly.
